Description of mountain:
The Peter Wiechenthaler Hütte mountain hut is situated on the Kienalkopf summit in the Berchtesgaden Alps at 1752 meters. A cargo cableway serves the hut, from which there is a nice view of the nearby peaks, especially Persailhorn. The view towards Saalfelden is also nice. The hut was built in 1926. It is open from late May to late September. When closed, a winter room with 6 beds is available.
