Planina Rčitno

Description of mountain pasture:
Rčitno is a picturesque mid-mountain pasture above Lake Bled on Pokljuka. In the past, it was mainly used for haymaking, and the path to it also for hauling timber from the Pokljuka forests. Today, there is no shepherd's hut, but quite a few charming weekend cottages, some of them already antique, and cattle and small livestock graze there as well. Planina Rčitno is known to mountain bikers, as well as riders and hikers, as an intermediate stop on the route from Bled toward Galetovec and destinations on Pokljuka; it is also very suitable as the final destination for family outings.
