Description of hut:The Pod Ježo Mountain Hut, formerly a border guard post, is located along the ridge road on the Kanal Kolovrat at an altitude of 740 m and is managed by the Valentin Stanič Kanal Mountaineering Association. The hut has an ideal location for hikers, cyclists, motorcyclists, as well as for explorers of First World War remnants along the former border with Italy. The ridge road and the peaks of Kolovrat offer a magnificent view north across the Soča Valley to the Alps and south across Venetian Slovenia and Matajur to the Friulian Plain all the way to the sea.

- From Volče via Solarji Pass to the hut: 12.5 km
- From Ušnik via Volčanske rute (partly gravel) to the hut: 9.6 km
- From Doblar along the Doblarca valley to Pušno, then right to the hut (partly gravel): 8.5 km
- From Ročinj to Kambreško via Srednje to the hut: 12 km
- From Kanal to Lig along the ridge road via Kambreško and Srednje to the hut: 19.5 km
- From Benečija (Italy) to Livek via Livške ravne to the hut
- via Solarji Pass to the hut
