Snowdon is a 1085-meter mountain located in the heart of the Snowdonia range in north-western Wales. It is the highest peak in Snowdonia and also in Wales. The highest mountain in Great Britain is Ben Nevis (1344 m) in Scotland.
Right at the summit stands a visitor center renovated in 2009, connected to the valley town of Llanberis by a narrow-gauge railway built in 1896.
