Sv. Ožbolt in Marija Snežna (Lužarji)

Description of mountain:
St. Ožbolt (Lužarji) is located on a 776-meter-high hill north of the settlement of Lužarji in the municipality of Velike Lašče. At the summit itself, which is partly covered by forest, stands a picturesque subsidiary church of St. Ožbolt (and Mary of the Snow), next to which grows a mighty old linden tree.
Due to the nearby trees the view from the top is somewhat limited, but at the forest edges a fine view opens onto the undulating wooded landscape of the Velike Lašče hills and the Krim range.
Archaeologists have also found traces of a prehistoric hillfort right beside the church, and the area around the summit, thanks to its peace and unspoiled nature, is suitable for a short family outing or as a stopover when exploring the wild gorges and springs of the nearby Iška River.
