450 cm of snow at Kredarica

Although temperatures in the valleys are already fully spring-like, real winter still prevails in the mountains. This morning at Kredarica there was 450 cm of snow (the maximum in the winter of 2009/10), and at Vogel 135 cm. Complete winter gear is therefore still required for ascents into the high mountains. Avalanche danger is currently at level 2, but it is higher in the middle of the day and in the afternoon. At that time, the upper layer of poorly bonded snow can be triggered even by minor loading.
