Accident in the Mountains

In Bosova grapa below Brana in the Kamnik Alps, a mountain accident occurred today in which a 37-year-old Croatian mountaineer lost his life.
Around noon today, mountain rescuers were notified that one of the group of Croatian mountaineers ascending towards the summit of Brana via Bosova grapa in difficult winter conditions had slipped below Brana in the Kamnik Alps.

Members of GRS Kamnik responded to the call for help, assisted by a helicopter and the on-duty team from Brnik. Upon arrival at the scene, they determined that they could no longer assist the injured Croatian mountaineer, as he had sustained such severe injuries in the approximately 300-meter slide that he died at the scene.

According to the Ljubljana Police Administration, the mountaineer was in a group with eight other Croatian mountaineers who were not injured in the incident. According to the information available so far, both the 37-year-old deceased and the other mountaineers in the group were equipped with climbing gear.

Mountain rescuers transported the remains of the Croatian mountaineer to the valley by helicopter.
