Accident on Gožarjeva peč

The Celje Police Administration (PU Celje) reported that on the registered climbing route Gožarjeva peč in the village of Vinska Gora near Velenje, criminal investigators from the Criminal Police Sector (SKP) of the Celje Police Administration (PU Celje), together with members of GRS Celje, are conducting an inspection of the scene of a mountain accident that occurred today around 9:30 a.m.



Preliminary findings indicate that a 48-year-old man from Ljubljana was climbing the climbing route behind a 61-year-old man from Medvode. When the latter reached a ledge on the climbing route, he asked him when he would climb up to him. He replied that he was setting off, after which he heard him scream. The 48-year-old man fell about 70 meters into the depths. He sustained such severe injuries that he died at the scene of the accident.
