Accident on Stol

Another black day in the Slovenian mountains! The missing ski tourer, reported missing since yesterday evening, was searched for in the Stol area by GRS Radovljica, GRS Bohinj and GRS Tržič. The GRZS drone was also activated, operated by the GRZS Communications Commission. With the thermal imaging camera, we surveyed the southern slope of Stol, but then due to extremely strong wind, we were forced to interrupt the rescue operation. We continued the search today, also found the missing person, unfortunately we could no longer help him. With the help of a helicopter from the Slovenian Police, we transported the deceased to the valley.
A hiker also lost his life on Lubnik due to sudden illness. GRS Škofja Loka mountain rescuers intervened, carrying the deceased to the valley. Already in the early morning hours (in the middle of the night), the mountain rescuers of Društvo Gorska reševalna služba Kamnik were in action, rushing to assist a person who severely injured their chest on planina Koren. In the early morning hours, the injured person was transported to the valley for further treatment with the help of a helicopter from the Slovenian Armed Forces. What will tomorrow bring?
