Accident on the way to Veliki vrh

Yesterday, a 65-year-old hiker met with an accident on the Austrian side of the Karawanks while on the way to the 2088-meter-high Veliki vrh.



According to the Austrian press agency APA, around 10 a.m., the hiker slipped on the ridge at less than 2000 meters above sea level for as yet unknown reasons and fell 250 meters into the depths.



According to the police of Austrian Carinthia, the hiker was traveling alone. His body was found in a basin by another hiker who came after him and alerted the police. The on-duty doctor confirmed the hiker's death, and his body was then transported by police helicopter.
