Mountains have claimed two new fatalities today. Two Slovenian alpinists died on Mount Viš (Jof Fuart) in the Julian Alps in Italy.
According to Primorski dnevnik, the accident occurred at the so-called tunnel at an altitude of 2350 meters, involving a man and a woman who started their ascent near the Corsi hut.
The alarm was triggered by the international rescue center Thorl Maglern, which immediately notified Italian mountain rescuers from Rabl, the newspaper adds.
According to our information, the victim was an experienced mountaineer from the Bovec area, unofficially the couple was roped together, and they set off for the hike already on Saturday.
