Agreement between PZS and Pivovarna Laško

On Monday, 28 March 2011, PZS President Bojan Rotovnik and Pivovarna Laško d.d. Marketing Director Jure Struc signed a letter of intent for mutual cooperation at the Alpine Association of Slovenia.



The cooperation will include the support of the Alpine Association of Slovenia to Pivovarna Laško in this year's Zlatorog Pride Transversal action, and at the same time, they agreed that the cooperation will continue not only this year but also in the next two years. Pivovarna Laško will indeed support several sustainability-oriented projects of the Alpine Association of Slovenia, among which those implementing the protocols of the Alpine Convention in Slovenian territory are in the foreground, encouraging people to use public transport more, and preserving, raising awareness and protecting mountain nature. Representatives of Pivovarna Laško also welcomed the Day of Slovenian Mountaineers, which will be on 4 June in Ljutomer.



Slovenia has already joined the implementation of the Alpine Convention years ago, and the Alpine Association of Slovenia as a non-governmental organisation has also joined the implementation of its protocols. Thus, PZS Vice-President Borut Peršolja presented to representatives of Pivovarna Laško the planned project of reviving the supply of mountain huts in Triglav National Park with horses, the project of organising a sports day with mountaineering content for primary school pupils, and the project of public transport timetables to mountaineering starting points. PZS Vice-President Slavica Tovšak presented the informational booklet Mountain Calendar or Mountain Guide, as the renovated and updated calendar will be called in the future. The Guide will direct mountaineers to useful data with current information useful for the journey.



The Zlatorog Pride Transversal "Gremo v hribe" will start at the end of April, specifically on Saturday, 30 April, on Kokoš on Kras, and during the year it will visit 11 more mountain huts.
