The Aljaž Tower was built at his own expense by the parish priest of Dovje, Jakob Aljaž, who later donated it to the Alpine Association of Slovenia. The Aljaž Tower provides shelter in strong winds and rain. However, during a thunderstorm it is not entirely safe to bivouac inside it.
