On Thursday, the acclimatization of stomachs to local food, a test of patience with negotiations with CXMA and waiting for cargo concluded in Urumqi. The decision was made to head towards Ili and further to the mountains, even without cargo. Agent David will wait for it until Monday and deliver it to BC. In the meantime, altitude acclimatizations will begin, with all three very limited due to incomplete equipment.
The bus journey began and after surviving 19 hours of driving, the alternator broke down in the Olympic village. It took a few hours to repair it, and a few hours later, the pulley came off it. They fixed the breakdown themselves, which again cost a few hours.
They arrived at the first settlements at 2 a.m., a short break to eat something, then another 2 hours to Ili, where they slept on the bus. Another full-day drive follows, and they are currently halfway, in the town of Zhaousu. If all goes well, they will reach Xiate the same day, from where they continue on foot and by horse.
