Clean Up Slovenia 2012

Mountaineering societies' actions during the all-Slovenian Clean Up Slovenia 2012 campaign

On March 24, 2012, the second all-Slovenian volunteer environmental action in Slovenia's history will be organized. Volunteers have been collecting locations of wild dumpsites since the 2010 action, when we cleaned Slovenia in one day with united forces, and entering them into a digital register.

The main purpose of this year's "Clean Up Slovenia 2012" action will not be just cleaning. The ultimate goal of the project is that such actions will not be needed in the future and that everyone will start to realize and act as mountaineers have been striving for years – we take all trash from the mountains and pastures back to the valley. Mountaineers have been carrying out the "Take the Trails with You to the Valley" action for 25 years and thus constantly demonstrate a responsible attitude towards nature.

Together we will succeed.

On Saturday, many mountaineering societies/clubs will also organize cleaning of mountain trails in the vicinity of their town, vicinity of mountain huts … or they will join other groups. You are cordially invited to join them or visit them near your place:
