Closed and damaged mountain trails
25.05.2009
The winter rich in precipitation, which is slowly departing, has left devastation on many mountain trails.
Powerful avalanches, thick snow cover and strong wind have damaged many mountain trails in the Slovenian mountains. Most of these trails are passable, but due to fallen trees, destroyed paths and damaged protections, we must be very careful over these sections.
However, there are also some trails that are deadly dangerous due to the risk of slipping, falling rocks and damaged protections and are therefore closed.
Closed mountain trails in the Julian Alps:
Trail from Pokljuka or Uskovnica to Vodnikov dom (passage under Tosc) - closed due to snow avalanche that heavily damaged the trail (passage deadly dangerous),
Trail through Pokljuška soteska - closed due to severe damage,
Trail to Mala Pišnica - closed due to slipping hazard and falling rocks,
Trail from Belopeška jezera to Mangart (Via Italiana) - closed due to damaged protections,
Trail from Belopeška jezera to Vevnica (Via dela Vitta) - closed due to damaged protections,
Trail from Belopeška jezera to Visoka Ponca (Via ferrata Alla) - closed due to damaged protections,
Ridge trail from Zadnja Ponca to Vevnica - permanently closed due to damaged protections,
Trail to Jalovec through Jalovski ozebnik - permanently closed due to falling rocks hazard...
Closed mountain trails in the Karavanke:
Trail to Ajdna - closed due to falling rocks hazard,
Closed mountain trails in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps:
Trail from Črnivec to Kranjska reber - closed due to fallen trees,
Trail from Črnivec to Menina planina - closed due to fallen trees,
Hunting trail from Logarska dolina to Okrešelj - closed due to rockfall,
Trail from Makekova Kočna towards Čedca waterfall - closed due to rockfall...
This is just some of the closed mountain trails in the Slovenian mountains. If you know of any other damaged or closed mountain trail, you can write to us at info@hribi.net
