Closed hiking trails on Peca

In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, dry grass and bushes on Peca in the municipality of Črna na Koroškem caught fire again, and the fire spread to a hard-to-reach area. Due to dense fog persisting on Peca since morning, extinguishing is too dangerous, so they interrupted it. The helicopter could not take off due to weather conditions. On site were firefighters from PGD Črna na Koroškem, Prevalje, Kotlje, PGE Ravne na Koroškem, and GRS Koroške. Until further notice, ascent to the mountain is prohibited for all hikers, and the hut on Peca is closed. Depending on weather conditions, they will continue extinguishing during tomorrow.



The fire on Peca has spread to the Austrian side. Firefighters from PGD Črna na Koroškem are heading to the site to check the fire status on our side of the mountain.
