Entire path to Begunjščica restored from Roblekov dom

The technical group of trail markers of the Alpine Association of Slovenia completed the restoration of the mountain path from Roblekov dom on Begunjščica to the summit of Begunjščica between 30 July and 4 August 2026, making it safer for hikers, and in the following days it will also be newly marked.

The technical group of the PZS Trails Commission, which maintains the most demanding mountain trails in the high mountains during the summer, rolled up their sleeves on Begunjščica in the last days of July and the first days of August. Seven volunteer trail markers, members of the PZS technical group, under the leadership of Jože Rovan and his assistant Jaka Kotnik, continued last year's work action, which they had to interrupt due to harsh weather conditions.

This year, the diligent trail markers repaired wooden safety features (steps and side supports) from Roblekov dom to below the summit of Begunjščica, and a helicopter of the Slovenian Army assisted with the transport of timber. Vegetation protruding onto the mountain path was also pruned along the trail, and in the following days the trail markers of PD Radovljica will also newly mark it.
