Extraordinary Assembly of Path Markers

6.12.2010
EXTRAORDINARY ASSEMBLY OF PATH MARKERS

On Saturday, December 4, 2010, in the premises of the City Municipality of Celje, in the National Home hall, the extraordinary assembly of path markers took place, organized by the PZS Commission for Mountain Trails.

After the regular assembly held on November 13 in Ljubljana did not have a sufficient number of delegates to make valid decisions, the PZS Commission for Mountain Trails was obliged to call an extraordinary assembly of path markers within one month. Thus, the commission decided to hold it before the extraordinary PZS general assembly scheduled for that day.

In accordance with the decision of the delegates at the regular assembly, a point-by-point discussion was conducted, and resolutions were drafted, which were submitted to the delegates for approval at this assembly.

At the extraordinary assembly of path markers, which began at 1 p.m., there were already 119 delegates out of 195 with voting rights present at the start, meaning the assembly was quorate and could carry out all planned tasks.

The introductory speech was given by the head of the PZS CMT, Tone Tomše, who greeted all those present and thanked them for attending. He proposed Bogdan Seliger from PD Horjul as the working president, who took over the leadership after approval and conducted the assembly according to the planned program. The most important item was the election of the head and members of the PZS CMT. After 21 long and highly successful years leading the commission, Tone Tomše got his successor. With broad support from the commission and delegates, Igor Mlakar from PD Tolmin became the new head of the PZS CMT. He could not attend the assembly for valid reasons but addressed and greeted the attendees in writing and thanked them for their support and trust. The elected commission members are: Tone Tomše (PD Radovljica), Jože Rovan (PD Ljubljana – Matica), Bogdan Seliger (PD Horjul), Albin Žnidarčič (PD Sežana), Uroš Vidovič (PD Ptuj), Boštjan Gortnar (PD Medvode), Maksimiljan Kotnik (PD Dravograd), and Peter Šilak (PD Ptuj).

For his immeasurable dedication, conscientious work, development of path marking activities, daily efforts, and numerous sacrifices over 21 years leading the commission, Tone Tomše received the PZS gold honorary badge, accompanied by prolonged applause from those present. He sincerely thanked everyone for the support and trust received throughout his years of leadership. As advice to his successor, he asked them to stand by him and support him.
