Three air tractors, which were extinguishing the fire on the slopes of Porezen in the afternoon, have completed their work and landed at Brnik, the firefighters' intervention on the ground is also slowly ending, confirmed Director of the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief Leon Behin.

In the afternoon, about half a hectare of hard-to-reach terrain caught fire, so firefighting aircraft were immediately activated.

The fire was most likely caused by a lightning strike. Lightning strikes were responsible for all major fires in the natural environment in the last 14 days, explained Director of the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief Leon Behin.

High fire hazard in Primorska
Behin reminded that the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief has decided that from Saturday a high fire hazard in the natural environment will be declared again in Primorska.

In the natural environment, activities that can cause fire will be prohibited. The fire hazard in the natural environment is expected to increase next week in a larger part of the rest of the country, they announced from the administration.
