Live: From Piran to the Summit of Triglav in Just One Day
On the route between Piran and Aljaž Tower on Triglav, the exciting relay "From 0 to 2,864" is currently underway. The adidas Terrex group is striving to cover the distance between Slovenia's lowest and highest points in just one day.
In Slovenia, more precisely between Piran and the summit of Triglav, a daring relay named "From 0 to 2,864" is taking place today. The adidas Terrex team, consisting of 12 athletes from the FreeApproved club, is attempting to achieve what seems at first glance an incredible feat using a combination of various sports disciplines – covering the distance between Slovenia's lowest and highest points in just one day.
The project unites enthusiasts of various outdoor sports, with each participant covering their section of the route in their favorite discipline. The first member of the adidas Terrex team, a road cyclist, started at 2:30 a.m. from the Piran lighthouse at Punta, while the last two athletes are scheduled to reach Aljaž Tower at the top of Triglav at sunset. In addition to the two mentioned disciplines, the relay includes mountain biking, mountain running, paragliding (if weather conditions permit), kayaking, and climbing. The route runs from Piran to Ljubinj, then to Planina Razor and Vogla, with a descent to Lake Bohinj, followed by Planina Konjščica and towards Kredarica, then climbing through the cave under Kredarica to the ridge path, and finally the last section to Aljaž Tower.
The "From 0 to 2,864" relay represents unique preparations for the fifth edition of the Soča Outdoor sports festival, which will take place from June 30 to July 2, 2017, in Tolmin, and this year it will also be held under the sponsorship of adidas Terrex.
