Heavy rainfall, avalanches and floods!

Tomorrow on Friday a distinct weather disturbance will reach Slovenia, bringing a larger amount of precipitation with it. The snow line will initially be between 1200 and 1500 m, then gradually lower, and on Saturday during the day snow may fall even in the lowlands. From Friday morning to Saturday evening up to 130 mm of precipitation may fall, or up to 70 cm of snow in the high mountains, the most on the mountain barriers of western Slovenia.
Due to the large amount of new snow, the possibility of snow avalanches triggering will increase everywhere in the mountain world. In lower areas, where it will mostly rain, wet snow slab avalanches may release. Due to soil saturation, individual earth slides may also release.
Due to abundant precipitation and snowmelt, most watercourses in the country will rise more strongly. Some rivers and streams may overflow their banks.
