How a mountain hut affects the environment

Mountain huts are here for us and we are the ones who, with our behavior and conduct, can contribute to them having as little impact as possible on our beautiful mountain world! This is how the new leaflet How a mountain hut affects the environment addresses young mountaineers.
The Alpine Association of Slovenia is implementing a communication project in 2018: Improving the energy efficiency of mountain facilities, co-financed by the Eco Fund, Slovenian Environmental Public Fund. The project includes various activities on the topic of energy and environmental renovation of mountain huts. Part of the activities is intended for owners and managers of mountain huts to improve the energy and ecological aspects of hut operations themselves, part of the activities is intended for raising awareness among young people, who are also addressed by the new leaflet How a mountain hut affects the environment.
The educational leaflet, intended primarily for younger elementary school students, with cute illustrations vividly depicts the operation of mountain huts and their impact on the environment - through the prism of waste, wastewater, noise, and air pollution - and provides simple instructions on how visitors can reduce the hut's impact on the environment. A small environmental step by every guest of a mountain hut means a big step toward more environmentally friendly operation of mountain lodges.
