Hut at Krnica Lakes opens winter season

For the second consecutive year, we are opening the Hut at Krnica Lakes also during the winter period. The hut is an excellent starting point for various tours in the Krn Mountains during this time. You can head to a number of surrounding peaks offering excellent ski touring of all difficulties, from the easiest descents suitable also for beginners to the most demanding alpinistic descents. Likewise, the hut together with Krnica Lake can be an independent destination for hikers, while the surroundings of the hut offer plenty of opportunities for various trainings and courses.



Access routes:

from Lepena (1.5 to 2.5 hours), where there is a parking area, the road is regularly maintained in winter;

from Planina Kuhinja (by car from Kobarid or Tolmin) via Krnska Škrbina (technically more demanding 5 to 6 hours) or through Lužnica Valley (easier 5 to 6 hours);

from Komna direction (Bohinj) or Triglav Lakes via Vratca Saddle (Bogatinsko Saddle).



In the hut we will ensure you feel good, are not hungry or thirsty after your tour, and are comfortably accommodated. In winter, a limited number of beds (34) will be available, so larger groups are recommended to make a reservation or announcement.
