11.03.2008
In the western Julian Alps and Bohinj mountains, heavy snowfall occurred yesterday and overnight. Half a metre of snow fell and it is still snowing occasionally, so avalanche danger has increased to level 3. Elsewhere only up to 20 cm fell, with avalanche danger level 2 there.
In the Julian Alps at 2500 m up to 250 cm, at 1500 m 120 to 200 cm of snow. In the western Karavanke at 1500 m a good 100 cm, in the eastern Karavanke and on Pohorje around 50 cm. Slightly more snow is in the high mountains of the Kamnik and Savinja Alps, around 150 cm there.
