Avalanche fatal for soldiers.
According to Swiss defence ministry spokeswoman Kirsten Hammerich, the soldiers were on a routine route for the ascent of the 4158-metre mountain when an avalanche surprised them at approximately 3800 metres altitude. The snow was fatal for six of them as they fell several hundred metres into the valley, while eight soldiers managed to escape unharmed. The army has already launched an investigation into the accident.
