The Kamniška koča na Kamniškem sedlu is located between Planjava to the east and Brana to the west, and between the Kamniška Bistrica valley to the south and the Logar Valley to the north. In the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, only the bivouacs under Skuta, Grintovec and Kočna and the emergency bivouac under Mrzli vrh are higher than the mentioned hut.
