Massive rockfall in the Bela Valley

This morning, a large rockfall from the Rzenik wall into the Bela Valley, just above the Orglice waterfall, occurred, destroying or blocking the path to Presedljaj. Since further collapse of the friable wall is possible, we recommend utmost caution to all visitors of the Bela Valley.



Our reader has just informed us that a huge and quite extensive rockfall or slide from Rzenik into the Bela Valley has collapsed, blocking the hiking path to Presedljaj. The fact that it is a truly extensive rockfall is evidenced by the dust cloud caused by the falling rocks, which can be detected even at Kopiščih or at the entrance to the Bela Valley.



As our reader reported, at least one more large crack is visible on the Rzenik wall, so extensive rockfall may continue, therefore we recommend exceptional caution to all visitors of the Bela Valley, especially those planning to ascend higher from the Bela Valley, or better yet, completely avoid the mentioned area until it is inspected by the competent services.



The competent services have been informed about the rockfall.
