In a deep abyss on Kanin, members of the Rapid Response Unit have been searching since this afternoon for four Czech citizens. They were supposed to contact a colleague in the Czech Republic on Tuesday evening, but since they did not, a rescue operation was launched. The rescue operation began today at 15:00.
A headquarters has been set up in Bovec, where rescuers from all over
Slovenia and colleagues from the Czech Republic will be awaited.
Aleš Stražar from the Cave Rescue Service told 24ur.com
that there is every hope that the Czechs will be found alive. Two of the four are
volunteer rescuers in the Czech Republic, so it can be expected that
they were properly equipped.Črnelsko brezno, where the Czech cavers are believed to have gone, is already known for two accidents in 1990 and 1997.
