Mountaineer slips over precipitous walls in Komna area

In the mountains of Gorenjska, several accidents occurred on Sunday. Three hikers died, and a search operation is still underway for one more.
Two hikers met with accidents in the Komna area. According to the Kranj Police Administration, the circumstances point to a slip and fall over precipitous walls. One was found dead, and the search for the other is still ongoing. Mountain rescuers and police are involved.

We already reported on Sunday that two hikers died on Mali Triglav within one hour in unrelated accidents. First, a Slovenian hiker fatally fell from Mali Triglav into Snežno konto around 10 a.m., and an hour later at the same spot, a foreign national died.
More interventions by mountain rescuers
Police also report other rescue interventions. A ski tourer was injured on Španov vrh, and a hiker on Jalenkamnu. On Zelenica, assistance was provided to a hiker with a knee injury. In the Vitranc area, mountain rescuers responded to a report of difficulties faced by a female hiker due to inadequate equipment. Before the rescuers arrived, another hiker helped her with his equipment, and the rescuers escorted her down to the valley.

Therefore, it is worth warning that conditions in the mountains can be very deceptive and extremely dangerous. Paths are icy, and hazards can also be hidden under the snow. Proper equipment alone is not enough; great caution is also required.
