New cross-border bus connection
2.07.2026
Passenger transport operator Arriva, in cooperation with the Posočje Development Centre, started operating a new seasonal international bus line Kranjska Gora-Trbiž-Podklošter on 1 July. During the summer season, the line will provide a daily connection between Slovenia, Italy and Austria and contribute to better cross-border mobility, the company Arriva announced.
According to Arriva, the new bus connection will improve cross-border mobility in the area of the Julian Alps and enable locals and visitors to travel affordably and in an environmentally friendly way between Slovenia, Italy and Austria.
It will connect popular tourist destinations and enable further rail connections from Podklošter, thus representing an additional option for travel without a personal car, they said.
The bus will run every day with four departures in each direction, namely Kranjska Gora-Trbiž-Podklošter at 9, 11, 15 and 17 hours, and in the direction Podklošter-Trbiž-Kranjska Gora at 9.50, 11.50, 15.50 and 17.50.
The price of a one-way ticket between Kranjska Gora and Trbiž is three euros, between Trbiž and Podklošter 2.50 euros, and between Kranjska Gora and Podklošter 4.50 euros.
The operation of the seasonal international bus line is financed by the Posočje Development Centre as part of the Trans-borders+ project, which is co-financed by the Interreg Central Europe programme, they announced.
