Notice: Lake Jasna

The Municipality of Kranjska Gora has been informed of the death of two dogs in the vicinity of Lake Jasna. It is currently not possible to confirm or exclude a connection between the death of the animals and contact with the water in the lake.

As a precautionary measure and until the conclusion of expert investigations, visitors are temporarily advised against swimming, drinking water, and direct contact with the water, shoreline deposits, driftwood, and sediment. We also ask that dogs and other animals be prevented from accessing the water.

In cooperation with the competent services (National Laboratory for Health, Environment and Food), appropriate sampling of water, shoreline deposits, and sediment as well as necessary laboratory tests will be carried out.

We emphasize that the mentioned measures do not imply confirmation of pollution or a causal link between water quality and the death of animals, but are exclusively preventive in nature.

The public will be informed in a timely manner about the results of the investigations and any further measures.
