Notice on partial and complete closures on sections of the state road over the pass.
We inform you that the company Gorenjska gradbena družba d.d., Jezerska cesta 20, 4000 Kranj, for the investor Direkcija RS za infrastrukturo, Hajdrihova ulica 2a, 1000 Ljubljana, will resume the reconstruction of the regional road, drainage arrangement and parking lots in the area of the top of the Vršič pass. Additionally, this year the rehabilitation of the road structure from the Vršič pass to Koča na Gozdu will also be carried out.
For traffic regulation needs during construction works, partial closures and complete closures are planned on sections of state roads R1-206/1043 Ruska cesta (Erika – Vršič), from km 5,020 (8,575) to km 8,948 and R1-206/1028 Vršič – Trenta, from km 0,000 to km 0,330.
During partial closures, traffic past the work area will proceed alternately one-way with traffic light guidance.
During complete closure, traffic will be diverted to the detour via Italy through the Predel border crossing with traffic signage.
Partial closures in the area of the top of the Vršič pass are planned from 15. 9. 2025 to 28. 11. 2025 or as long as weather conditions permit.
Complete closure will be established Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 17:00 from 15. 9. 2025 to 12. 10. 2025. No complete closures are planned for weekends and between 17:00 and 07:30. From 12. 10. 2025 to 28. 11. 2025, only partial closures are planned.
The exact daily schedule may change depending on weather conditions due to winter conditions on the pass.
Access to Koča na Gozdu from the Kranjska Gora direction will be possible throughout the construction works.
From the Trenta direction, access to Tičarjev dom will be possible if site conditions allow.
As there are large areas in the current state in the work area used for unregulated parking, these areas (partially or fully) will be appropriately closed during construction to prevent parking in the construction area and reduce the number of unauthorized persons in or near the construction site.
Parking will be permitted in all cases on lower areas along the road on both sides of the pass.
