Opening of the highest observation tower in Slovenia

"I am proud that the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina has received such a special landmark, which will bring revenue to the municipality and tourist accommodations. This is a new tourist attraction of our municipality, where numerous activities and digital content will take place," added the mayor of the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina, mag. Branko Kidrič, at today's first presentation to the media of the highest and only Slovenian tower in Slovenia, the Crystal observation tower. It measures 106 meters in height and will allow visitors to experience it every day of the year, regardless of weather conditions and seasons. The official opening ceremony of the Crystal observation tower Rogaška Slatina will be today at 5 p.m., also with a concert by Nina Pušlar.

The Crystal Tower is the only tower with a cafe at the top and the only one in the country that offers interactive content. The Crystal observation tower has a ground floor with an info point and a shop with souvenirs, at 96 meters there is a cafe with 40 seats, a view all around, and adrenaline walking on transparent floors, at 100 meters there is a panorama for calmer viewing of the surroundings and the possibility of virtual experience "Flight with Pegasus". At 104 meters is the last stop with an open outdoor terrace.

The spaces at the top of the tower can accommodate up to 150 visitors at a time. As part of the external arrangement around the tower, there is a paved square of 740 m2. The total net floor area of the facility, including the roof terrace, measures 582 m2. To the top lead 594 stairs and an elevator. In five sales booths on the square in front of the tower, local providers will present themselves. Next to the square is a parking lot for 51 passenger cars and 2 buses, as well as a public bike rental.

The implementation part of the Crystal Tower Rogaška Slatina project began with construction in the spring of 2022 and lasted two years. The realized value of the project amounts to five million euros, of which two million euros were contributed by the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, and the difference is provided from the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina's own resources and with the help of donors. "I am glad that in just two years we have built the tallest building and tower in Slovenia at 106 meters, which represents an additional attraction for both the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina and our entire country," concluded Kidrič.

Rogaška Slatina ranks among the 10 most visited tourist destinations. By population, the municipality of Rogaška Slatina ranks 49th out of 212 Slovenian municipalities, meaning it is in the top quarter of the largest municipalities in Slovenia.
