Opening of the Via Ferrata Spodnji Plot - Zelenica

In August 2015, a new very difficult secured climbing route (via ferrata) was installed, running through the south face of Spodnji Plot in the immediate vicinity of the mountain hut at Zelenica. The via ferrata splits after the first 35 meters at the intersection and in the upper part follows two variants (left easier - "educational secured climbing route" and right harder section - "sport very difficult via ferrata"), both ending with an exit near the summit.



The elevation difference from entry to exit is 90m, total length of the route-cables (with both branches) is over 180 meters.



The secured climbing route will primarily be intended for GUC Zelenica activities, but can also be used by all other visitors, via ferrata and climbing enthusiasts.



Mandatory equipment: helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set, appropriate footwear (for the harder section of the route, additional sling and climbing shoes recommended).

Equipment can be rented at the hut at Zelenica, where you can also get information, tips, and for less experienced climbers there are options for guidance-leading on the ascent through the via ferrata.
