Over 3 meters of snow already at Kredarica
1.03.2016
February started in the mountains with relatively little snow, as there was no more than 1 meter even in the high mountains.
After several weeks of mostly cloudy weather with occasional precipitation, the snow cover height at Kredarica thickened by almost 250 cm, so this morning it measured 310 cm.
In the high mountains of the Julian Alps and western Karawanks there is a high risk of snow avalanches.
