Paid Parking on Parking Lots in the Velika Planina Area

Dear visitors of Velika Planina, we inform you that as of Friday, July 17, 2020, we are introducing paid parking on marked parking lots from Kranjski Rak towards Velika and Mala Planina.
The Municipality of Kamnik adopted in June the Rules on Traffic Regulation of Parking in the Velika Planina Area (Official Gazette of RS, No. 90/2020 of June 24, 2020), with the aim of protecting the Velika Planina area, which represents a unique natural and cultural heritage whose preservation is of utmost importance. Based on a public tender for granting a concession, the company Velika Planina, d.o.o. was selected to manage and maintain the parking lots.
We are introducing the parking fee together with the Municipality of Kamnik with the aim of preserving, developing, and promoting tourism in Velika Planina, as organized and supervised vehicle parking will reduce environmental stress and associated negative consequences, solve problems, as there was often (especially in summer months) unregulated vehicle parking that occasionally caused traffic jams and thereby prevented urgent access for emergency vehicles (ambulances, firefighters, mountain rescue service, police), and in addition, part of the parking fee revenues will be allocated to the development of the Velika Planina area.

Parking at five marked parking lots can be paid at the intersection before the parking lot at Rakove Ravni. Place the payment slip or annual permit visibly under the windshield. Upon payment, friendly information staff will direct you to the parking lots, provide you with informational material about attractions on the pasture and a map. Payment will also be possible via sent SMS message. On all marked parking lots, instructions for paying parking via SMS with the vehicle registration number will be posted on information boards, where you will also find a map. If the mobile signal at your location does not allow sending a message, you can do so away from the parking lot where you have a signal. Your SMS payment will be recorded in the application and checked against the list.

The daily parking fee (24/7) is:
motorcycle 5.00€,
passenger car 7.00€,
van or motorhome 20.00€,
bus or minibus 50.00€.
The annual parking fee is:
motorcycle 25.00€,
passenger car 35.00€,
van or motorhome 100.00€,
bus or minibus 250.00€.
Instructions for payment via SMS message
Send an SMS to the phone number 4333 with the content below.

The first code indicates the parking lot number (VP1, VP2, VP3, VP4, VP5), followed by a space and your full registration number.

For passenger vehicle: VP1 space reg. no. of vehicle (e.g. VP1 KRXY123)
If it is a motorcycle, add -M to the parking lot number (e.g. VP1-M KRXY123), or for motorhome or van -A (VP-A KRXY123).
After sending the message, follow the instructions you receive on your phone.

Payment for buses via SMS is currently not possible. Payment is possible in cash upon arrival at the parking lot or by prior notification to info@velikaplanina.si and payment via bank transfer after prior notification.

We ask all visitors to park at one of the marked parking lots after paying the fee. This way, we will ensure order and consequently safe passage for emergency vehicles.
