Path to Tursko gora reopened
30.07.2017
Path through Boštjanco to Tursko gora open again!
Yesterday, 29.7.2017, we concluded a two-day joint action of PZS path maintainers in the area of the landslide in Boštjanci.
The path was closed since 23.5.2017 and was not maintained earlier due to landslide activity.
The first part of the action was carried out already on 20.7.2017 by two path maintainers under the leadership of chief Zdravko Bodlaj, one active member, and one alpinist from PD Kamnik.
They carried out rock demolition in the area of the active rock landslide and trail clearing in the section of damaged protections.
Yesterday and today, under the leadership of the chief, we carried out the repair of the damaged section of the path. Four path maintainers from PD Kamnik, one from PD Bajtar, and one from PD Domžale participated.
Safety was personally ensured by the president of PD Kamnik, who set up a fixed rope at the landslide site, as part of the wall was full of sand.
We supplemented damaged pitons and repaired 5 pitches of wire rope totaling 40m, and added 3 foot pegs and 2 hand pegs.
On the return, we continued counting missing or damaged steps, and added three new hand pegs at critical points up to the junction for Brano.
We hope there will be as few such landslides as possible and that the path will remain safe for a long time, as it is the shortest connection for crossing the Kamnik Alps from Kamnik saddle to Kokrško sedlo.
