The December Planinski vestnik is here. The content of this year's last issue of Planinski vestnik is again interesting. The theme of the month is dedicated to snow avalanches and tips for greater safety and risk reduction. I believe that the frame with eight points titled 'Hold - Don't hold: selected avalanche wisdoms for mountaineering experts and novices' will touch you too.
In continuation, I recommend reading the conversation with Jurij Ravnik, one of the most active members of the OSP project (Equip Slovenian Climbing Areas initiative). After reading, sport climbers who have massively 'multiplied' on plastic will understand that natural climbing areas are not 'free, given by God', but require huge amounts of volunteer work and funds for their upkeep. In the interview with Nela Štular, curator for pedagogy and education at the Slovenian Mountaineering Museum, you will learn about the purpose and significance of the exhibition The Tower Watches Us on the 130th anniversary of Aljažev stolp, and not only that, but many interesting facts, e.g., what wonderful photos they received in the photo contest, how people perceive the tower, what it means to them, what wonderful parts the exhibition has ...
Here is also a column - I dare to publish one paragraph because it really sums up the state that we actually cannot wish for:
"... Young women started showing off in sports bras on Instagram, others followed the example, and young men followed them to the top of the local hill. Masses of people enrolled in mountaineering schools not intending to climb, but to exercise in an interesting way, have fun and 'ride the image', which they did most easily by stepping into the nearest mountaineering gear store. These have been flourishing in recent years ..."
