Planinski vestnik, February 2025
19.02.2025
The February Planinski vestnik is festively coloured, as we celebrate 130 years since the first issue of the Vestnik! The theme is interesting, starting with Žarko Rovšček's editorial and an article on the evergreen storm petrel from the pen of the excellent Igor Škamperle. We also looked at where we "blundered" it and how the printer's goblin played a trick on us, while Ažbe Polšak created an excellent comic strip on the anniversary theme.
In the first interview, we write about the successful Lalung 1 expedition of our exceptional four female alpinists in the Indian Himalayas. Due to the successful expedition, upon returning from the Himalayas they had to embark on yet another - a media-very resonant one. In the relaxed interview, full of laughter and reminiscing, the emphasis is also on the experiences they gained as members of the women's expedition.
The second interview is with Sašo Maček, who last year set out on the Slovenian Mountain Trail with his partner in a somewhat different way.
We ascend Ararat, head out on Norway's demanding hiking gem, Dušan Škodič touches on the highly relevant topic of ramp installation in his column, Mitja Filipič writes about last year's expedition to Nanda Devi East, with Anka Rudolf we wander the Carnic Alps, in the education articles Simon Nahtigal reflects on alcohol in the mountains, Petra Zupet on the danger of snow blindness. Juso Ikanović recalls the Prenj mountain and France Avčin, Mira Steinbuch writes about the recipients of awards for the best achievements in alpinism, sport and ice climbing, as well as ski touring for 2024, Zdenka Mihelič about the winners of the national competition Mladina in gore ... And you'll find many more exciting articles and photographs.
In the Z nami na pot section, we invite you with skis to the Zirknitz valley in the Goldberg group - following the tracks of former gold diggers, specifically on variously demanding ski touring tours: to Windischscharte (2717 m), to the three-thousander Sandkopf (3090 m), to Sandfeldkopf (2920 m) and to Moharkreuz (2448 m).
Followed by the regular sections: literature, mountain organisation.
We wish you pleasant reading of the Planinski vestnik and
a happy and safe step on all your paths!
