The January Planinski vestnik has already been released. In this month's feature article, we write about the Mojstrana Squirrels - climbing legends from Mojstrana. These young men contributed to an exceptional period of Slovenian alpinism in the 1960s and 1970s of the previous century. They knew exactly what they wanted, dared to pursue it, and knew how to execute it. Who these legends of ours were, what they climbed and experienced, we cover in the main feature, authored by Vladimir Habjan, who is also the author of the recently published book on the Mojstrana Squirrels.

Interview: In the first interview, we invited Nataša Privošnik, a member of the Slovenian national para-climbing team, as well as a successful climber and enthusiastic hiker. The second interview is with Liv Sansoz, an exceptional climber, two-time world champion, and three-time overall World Cup winner. What halted her remarkable climbing career, why she moved to Chamonix, and how she became the first woman to paraglide in tandem from the eight-thousander K2, you will discover in this issue of the Vestnik.

We could not avoid covering the high-profile multi-day rescue operation, the mountain rescue in Kotliški graben (described first-hand by a mountain rescuer). We also write about the 18th professional conference on Mountains and Safety, the honorary PZS members the Štremfelj couple and the highest PZS awards for 2024, a wonderful hike to Mali Ponca above the Belopeška or Mangartska lakes, ice climbing in Rjukan - land of the Vikings, an encounter with a snow leopard in Ladakh, Valentin Stanič - man of the stern gaze and gentle soul, the first alpinist of the Eastern Alps and clergyman, as we celebrated the 250th anniversary of his birth last year.
