Planinski vestnik, July-August 2025

In the double summer issue of Planinski vestnik, we have prepared the theme of the month or two months on mental health in mountaineering. Recently, we have written about a whole range of topics stemming from our psyche – from fear, doubts, grief, love to perseverance. Mountains have always been a place where people go to seek themselves – sometimes to find peace, other times to test themselves, and sometimes to escape. And it is precisely in these escapes, searches, and returns that the threads of our psyche intertwine.

We spoke with Matic Novak, a rescuer at heart, who says he would prescribe an hour in the forest a day to everyone.
The second conversation is with the mayor of the Kranjska Gora municipality, Henriko Zupan, with whom we discussed traffic regimes for parking and tolls in Vrata, on Vršič, in Mojstrana, Krma, and at the local trailheads for the mountains.

We roam the roof of the Bernese Alps, Corsica, the Little Prince Trail, and the Kaghan Valley in the Karakoram range. We publish a story about fear above sheer cliffs and about a different kind of youth camp, when young people embarked on a mountaineering adventure along the Via Adriatica trail. We write about a pastoral story somewhat differently, about the all-Slovenian gathering of hikers at Janče, and about the probabilities of weather forecasts coming true or not. In the double issue, you will also find plenty of photos on three pages in the middle of the vestnik, as well as numerous experiences.

In the "Z nami na pot" section, we invite you to explore the Pyrenean national parks and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. In the Pyrenees, we invite you to the Grande Cascade waterfall, Cola de Caballo waterfall, Punto Acuto (2242 m), and Tuc de Ratera (2861 m); at home, to Jezersko and Kokrsko Kočno (2540 m and 2520 m), Brano (2252 m), Ojstrica (2350 m), and Peč (2125 m).
