In the May issue of Planinski vestnik, we highlight the creativity of Damir Šantka from the Croatian Alpine Association, who is bursting with activities. He is active in various committees and commissions, writes articles for the magazine Hrvatski planinar, writes books about his mountaineering feats on high and lower peaks, reports on his travels across all continents of the world, writes stories for children and youth, dives and has written books about it, draws comics, photographs, sings and has performed with several ensembles, released multiple albums ... Get to know this extremely interesting person and above all his creativity.

There are two interviews this time - one with Damir Šantka, the other with Patrik Jagunić, who was caught in an avalanche in Norway this past winter and buried in it for a full seven and a half hours - and survived. An extraordinary survival story of fortunate circumstances, will, motivation and positive thinking, about the fight for life and love. He also shared some things with us that he hasn't shared elsewhere.

We write about the Slovenian Mountain Trail, our most popular and at the same time oldest transverse trail, with Šantka we wander through Andalusia in sun and rain, around Pece with gale-force winds and among Bosnian lilies. We viewed the exhibition at Grad svetega Justa, we write about spring and love in the mountains, about the invincible charm of K2 and the golden jubilee of PD Viharnik; we also test Fjällräven gear.

In the "With us on the trail" section, Andreja Erdlen invites you to the foothills of Trnovski gozd - specifically to Kucelj (1237 m), Veliki Rob (1237 m), Skozno (671 m) and Vitovski hrib (604 m) as well as to Škabrijel (646 m).
