Planinski vestnik, September 2025

In the September issue of Planinski vestnik, we have chosen summer wanderings as the theme of the month. We went to Switzerland, Zermatt and the villages around Matterhorn, to via ferratas in the Swiss Alps and to glacier lakes, as well as by gondola and on foot and with a wheelchair to high mountains, even to the four-thousander Breithorn. With our neighbors in Austria, we climbed Figerhorn near Veliki Klek, and went for experiences to Posavje on the Rečiška planinska pot.

We write about the new success of one of the best alpinists among us and in the world, who already has two golden ice axes. This is Aleš Česen, who with his climbing partner Lukas Wörle climbed the first ascent route on the 6224 meters high Cherireen Sar in Karakorum. We publish Dušan's bitter humorous sketch about the dog, the owner's best friend, we cycle along the Danube on the EuroVelo 6 route, interesting is also the article about a seven-day touring bike ride on the western Slovenian loop, as well as reflections on greeting in the mountains and on escape into memories and connectedness above the valley. In the nature conservation section, we descend into the abyss on Skedinica, and dive 30 years back when Slavko Svetičič - Slavc passed away. In the story from beneath the Himalayas, Matjaž Čuk writes about the Kaghan valley and disappointment - about which one, just read in the September issue of Vestnik.

In the Z nami na pot section, we invite you to cycling excursions in Germany and Upper Austria, namely from Passau to Aschach, from Aschach to Enns, from Enns to Krems, from Krems to Tulln and Vienna.

The regular sections follow: Planinčkov kotiček (this time about the bull Cikec and mountain rescuers), comic strip (about overdoing it in the mountains and negligence), readers' letters, literature (among other things also about the new book by Viki Grošelj about Makalu, which was the first Slovenian eight-thousander), mountaineering organization, news and in memoriam.
