Which of the listed settlements is not located in the Julian Alps? That was the question in the previous poll.
The correct answer is - Dovje.
Dovje is located above the left bank of the Sava Dolinka river on the southern slopes of the Karawanks. Dovje also has a monument to Jakob Aljaž, who was the parish priest there for almost 4 decades.
Trenta, Radovna, Mojstrana, Stara Fužina and Sorica are places in the Julian Alps.
A debate arose on the forum about whether Sorica is located in the Julian Alps, as on the portal we list Ratitovec under Škofjeloško, Cerkljansko hribovje and Jelovica.
Officially, Ratitovec and Jelovica are still part of the Julian Alps, but the portal creators have, for (in our opinion) greater clarity, separated Jelovica from the Julian Alps and added it to the Škofjeloško and Cerkljansko hribovje. We have assigned Ratitovec to Jelovica, as it rises directly above the forested plateau of Jelovica.
Similarly, we have done with the eastern part of the Karawanks, where we have classified the peaks or ranges Konjiška gora, Paški Kozjak, Boča, Macelj and many others into the category Pohorje and other northeastern Slovenia.
Poll results:
53% Sorica
24% Dovje
8% Radovna
7% Trenta
5% Stara Fužina
3% Mojstrana
In the poll that ran from 23.12.2013 to 4.1.2014, approximately 1400 Hribi.net portal users participated.
