Poll - Source of the Soča and Zelenci
19.08.2014
What is located at a higher altitude? That was the question in the previous poll.
The correct answer is - source of the Soča.
The source of the Soča River is located at an altitude of approximately 990 m, at the foot of the 2379 m high Travnik. During longer dry periods, the spring almost dries up, otherwise it is a relatively strong karst spring. The water that gushes out of the nearby cave soon descends steep rapids and at the beginning also a smaller waterfall.
Zelenci (845 m) are the source (lake) of the Sava Dolinka River, the river that joins the Sava Bohinjka at Lancovo (Lancovo is a settlement in the municipality of Radovljica) and then under the name Sava flows all the way to its confluence with the Danube.
Poll results:
69 % Source of the Soča
28 % Zelenci - source of Sava Dolinka
3 % Don't know
