Possibility of spontaneous release of slab avalanches

In the past few days, avalanches have spontaneously released during the day on south-facing slopes in the mid-mountain and high-mountain areas of the Municipality of Tržič due to solar radiation and higher temperatures.
Walking under such slopes or crossing them can be dangerous and unpredictable, as a snow avalanche has no timetable. We already issued a bulletin on Saturday, warning about the possibility of such releases.

Predicting the release of snow avalanches is very difficult, but they can be anticipated based on quality input data, snowpack history (snow profiles) and weather.

Tomorrow, on Wednesday, we also expect spontaneous avalanche releases on south-facing grassy slopes (Vrtača, Begunjščica, Zelenice area, Košutica, Košuta ridge) with sufficient steepness (>35°), so we warn you not to linger under such slopes or cross them!
