Road to Kamniška Bistrica Valley Reopened

Following the catastrophic flood at the beginning of the month, the road between Stahovica and Kamniška Bistrica is open again. On certain sections of the road, drive carefully; the authorities urge compliance with the changed traffic signage. Velika Planina is also accessible, with the cable car operating to it on a regular schedule, as reported by the Kamnik Tourism and Sports Institute.

Every day from 10 to 15 is the Preskar Museum in the herder settlement open, the Domžale Hut is also open, as reported by the institute.

Both huts in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps – Kamniška Hut on Kamnik Saddle and Cojzova Hut on Kokra Saddle – will welcome hikers again from September 2 onwards, they added. From Saturday, the hiking trails to both mountain huts and surrounding peaks will also be open.

The Kamniška Bistrica Valley was inaccessible for a long time after the floods that struck the country on August 4.

The municipality had announced the road opening for last Saturday, but according to the institute's explanations, the opening was delayed by a few days.
