Danger is level 2 on the European five-level scale - MODERATE.

Danger pattern: vn6 Cold weather, poorly bonded fresh snow with wind
Risk assessment
Danger in the mountains will be above about 1800 m above sea level due to larger amounts of new snow MODERATE, level 2. Especially in areas with wind-packed snow and on steeper slopes, you can trigger a fresh snow avalanche with greater additional load. No spontaneous avalanching is expected.
Snow conditions
CONDITIONS in the mountains are wintery. In the past days, up to about 70 cm of snow has fallen in the high mountains. It snowed onto bare ground. The snow has bonded relatively well with it. Wind has created wind slabs.
Forecast weather development
On Thursday, partly cloudy. On Friday, cloudy, snow again. Westerly to southwesterly wind. Up to about 20 cm of snow will fall. Wind will create new wind slabs.
Trend of snow conditions
New snow will settle slowly and the snowpack will become more stable. Since it will remain cold, snowline at the end of the week around 1000 m a.s.l., snow will remain dry and soft, only on wind-exposed locations a crust will form. Avalanche danger will slowly decrease.
General avalanche danger is level 2 on the European five-level scale.
