28.12.2015
RISK ASSESSMENT

Avalanche danger is level 1.

Snow cover is stable.

Risk is low. No spontaneous avalanching.

SNOW CONDITIONS and CURRENT STATE OF THE SNOW COVER

There is very little snow in the mountains. The snow cover is mostly covered with a crust formed by daytime melting and nighttime freezing, or it is hard. Temperature inversion prevails with temperatures above zero. At night it cools below freezing mainly on plateaus and in frost hollows.

Compacted snow cover exists only here and there in high-mountain shades and here and there on plateaus.

FORECAST WEATHER DEVELOPMENT

Today the weather will not change yet.

Tomorrow cloudiness will gradually increase from the east, while in the high mountains it will remain partly clear. In higher elevations colder air will gradually start arriving.

On Wednesday it will be cloudy and foggy, highest peaks may protrude above the clouds. Snow may fall occasionally. A strengthened northeasterly wind will blow.

SNOW CONDITIONS TREND

Snow is mostly already well transformed. Especially in the morning there is a slightly higher chance of slipping due to partially icy surface.
